nope, I'm not kidding. I've been playing my 360 for nearly half a year and there were times I played without sound in order to not wake other residents of a house and yes, then I did hear it. Otherwise, I honestly don't notice it as I'm either playing music through the dashboard while playing games or playing games loud enough to not hear a thing. Plus nothing will ever be as loud as the Dreamcast's laser moving back and forth, hahaha. I love my Dreamcast though.
Just to clarify because I don't think you know, not bashing (just pointing out), the component cables for the 360 are nice in that you still do have choice. The cable branches off at the end into two sets of cables: one set being the normal 3 prong and the other set being your Red, Green, Blue component portion. Then where the cables connect to the 360 there is a switch that is set to either TV or HDTV. So just to clarify, even though we have HD cables, HD isn't forced upon us.
...but it's estimated the PS3 only had a little over half of those 400,000 shipped.
The big deal is that these things shouldn't have been overlooked because the competition has this feature. Hopefully this fix will also add upscaling to DVDs because you guys should be getting that too.
But the system should be upscaling the video in the first place. They had a year to match the 360's capability of upscaling from 720p to 1080i and they failed to meet people's expectations.

I love taco bell! I eat there quite a bit and enjoy the taco goodness. This would rule! I would trade my 360 for this, but obviously that's not what this campaign is for.

Agreed that it can get loud, but it's unnoticeable unless you are playing without any sound. I don't play with the sound really loud and I can't hear my 360 over it unless I'm sitting there listening for it.
I forgot that Christmas was all about material goods and has nothing to do with spending time with your family, or if you're religious, celebrating the birth of Christ. My bad.
If they offered a vga cable I would be much more likely to buy a wii. The stability and sharpness of a computer monitor blows away my 18 year old standard definition tv.

No PS3 fans came in here bashing us. Everybody else should return the favor next time something about PS3 is posted. They have made the first step by not starting anything. Let's continue this and this site will become much more enjoyable for every one.
I think the reason Resident Evil 5 is listed for PS3 only and not both consoles is pretty simple. Japanese gamers are excited for that game ON PS3. I'm sure the way their game voting is setup, they would have the game listed separately for the individual console.
they're making exclusive content for Halo 2 which, if I read correctly, is "premium" most likely meaning you're going to have to throw out some Microsoft Points. the other download will be the Halo 3 public beta. should be free.
If they are releasing new Halo 2 maps in the Spring, this is obviously to hold us over for Halo 3, as in not just a couple of months. I'm going to go with most sites guesses of a holiday release. The fact the beta is coming around the same time is another signal. A good public beta will last quite a while so they can get as much info as needed (i.e. not like PSU). None-the-less this is great news and I am excited.
Either way, I completely agree with you that those will all be great games. I'll be picking up Assasin's Creed on the 360 when that comes out (I was a HUGE Thief fan). Just with the available money I have, I need to stick with what I've got for now.

you do realize Halo 2 has at least 50,000 people playing it constantly and that Gears of War has had 800,000 unique gamers log on to it so far, right?
